As a print exhibitor I am saddened and frustrated by the rapid decline in print exhibitions amongst the international exhibition circuits accredited by international bodies such as FIAP and the PSA. Coupled with the lack of respect shown by exhibitions not returning exhibition prints to their authors it seems to me that the demise of quality print exhibition is being exacerbated by short sightedness and the ease that comes with digital only exhibition.
It may appear trite, but I have yet to see a set of pixels hangiing on a wall for any to see at any time. It is always a pleasure to see old photographs on display in galleries and museums, will our desecendants be able to share that pleasure in fifty year’s time?
